Beehive Malaysia Designing a youth social innovation incubator with the US State Department and Babson College
In order to reach its aim of becoming a developed country by 2020, Malaysia needs to accelerate its rate of enterprise creation. Youth, nationally and globally, are facing new and complex challenges that need solutions through new services and products. Education, and universities in particular, need to give students the capacity to innovate and create enterprises in response to emerging needs.
An incubator in the national entrepreneurship university, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, to pilot ways in which youth - both students and marginalized youth- can create new services, products and enterprises in response to their own needs and to global challenges. Wow!Labs creates the model. The space, situated on campus and in city centre, will serve as a prototype for other experiments in this field.
